Volunteer drivers and approved family member drivers are the heartbeat of SWAVI. Here's what you need to get behind the wheel.
All drivers must complete the following:
Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence (standard Saskatchewan driver's licence)
Watch the van securement system video (~25 minutes) at home, prior to in-person training
Attend in-person van training (~1 hour)
Read our policies and sign our Confidentiality Agreement (provided by email or in person)
Provide your valid driver's licence — SWAVI will submit it for a clean driver's abstract approval
FOR Non-Family Volunteer Drivers ONLY
In addition to the requirements above, non-family volunteer drivers must submit a clean RCMP Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector approval to SWAVI.
Don't worry about the cost — SWAVI will provide a Criminal Record Check request letter to cover the fee.
